Keynote: Online retail in transition – what we need to prepare for now

The online and retail industries are changing faster than ever. What are the most important developments and what do we need to prepare for if Chinese platforms such as TikTok continue to gain ground and more and more AI agents take over in the consumer sector?

The mosaic effect

We used to plan for target groups. Today, we plan for contradictions: the TV bonfire has died out, AI is turning search on its head and purchasing decisions are influenced by group chat. Reach has become obsolete as a key currency and the customer journey has become a mosaic: Dozens of touchpoints per phase, no two journeys the same. If you want to orchestrate this mosaic, you need a new tool. Touchpoint.AI is the answer.

GEO meets conversion: Why AI traffic doesn’t convert

AI visibility changes the traffic – but not automatically the conversion. I’ll show you why AI-generated traffic often converts worse, what role changed intent structures play and how you can adapt your content, UX and funnel accordingly.

AI search optimization 2026: What works, what doesn’t – and what role do affiliates play?

ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are currently changing how people make purchasing decisions – and who becomes visible in the process. The good news: AI Search can be influenced. The bad news: Not everything that is currently being sold as “GEO best practice” works. Some even harbor enormous risks!

Landwehr (CMO & CPO at Peec AI) uses data from millions of AI chats to show what actually works in AI search optimization in 2026 – and what does not. The questions addressed include the following:

  • Which sources are quoted by LLMs – and why these of all sources?
  • How has the role of affiliate publishers and comparison sites shifted in AI responses?
  • What specific levers do advertisers, publishers and networks have to remain present in ChatGPT & Co.

At the end of the session, participants will know which tactics work, which don’t, and which are risky.

Why not every touchpoint has to sell to be valuable

In performance marketing, success is often attributed to the last measurable contact. The presentation shows why this view falls short and why individual touchpoints in the customer journey can take on very different roles – from attention to orientation to completion. Using typical patterns from real journeys, it will become clear which contacts are often over- or undervalued today and what consequences this has for budgets and management.

AI is changing performance marketing – how smart companies are turning it into growth

In this presentation, David Odenthal uses specific practical examples to show how websites, SEO and digital business models are changing as a result of AI and why traditional approaches are increasingly reaching their limits. This is not about theoretical future scenarios, but about concrete learnings from daily work with AI agents, conversion systems and new platform structures.

Read moreThe topics covered

include:

  • Why “agent-ready” websites will be crucial in the future
  • How the KIT Framework helps organizations build clarity, intelligence and transformation
  • Why platform economics and data structures are becoming more important than pure reach
  • How AI is making modern SEO simpler and more logical again
  • Why specialized AI agents for SEO, CRO and content are currently creating enormous competitive advantages

The presentation is aimed at companies, affiliates, performance marketers and decision-makers who want to understand how AI can become a growth driver rather than a threat.

Creator instead of banner. Why influencers are redefining performance in affiliate marketing

According to the Affiliate Trend Report 2026, influencers and creators are among the most important developments in affiliate marketing. While traditional affiliate models are often heavily dependent on SEO traffic, creators open up completely new ways of activating target groups. They combine reach, trust and storytelling with measurable performance. In the first part of the presentation, Markus Kellermann will show why creators are becoming increasingly important in affiliate marketing and what role they will play in the publisher mix in the future. Julia Boiarchukova from Vodafone will then provide exclusive insights into a current campaign in which creator content was specifically combined with cashback mechanisms. YouTube formats, podcasts and creator integrations are used to inspire users, direct them to cashback partners and then lead them to conversion. This model combines content trust with clear performance incentives. The presentation uses specific campaign examples to show why creator content measurably strengthens cashback models and leads to significantly higher-quality sales. Participants will gain practical insights into how advertisers can strategically integrate Creator into their affiliate program and which success factors are decisive.

Internationalization within Europe – what e-commerce players should know in advance

What should an e-commerce company do when its own market appears to be saturated?
An expansion to other countries is obvious, but when, where, how and why is it worthwhile?
We show who should internationalize now, why European countries are particularly suitable for the first steps of internationalization, what special features individual markets have and what opportunities, but also risks, they hold in conjunction with the specifics of the unique e-commerce company.
